I remember how much I struggled when I was new to the Grain-Free Lifestyle in 2012. I also remember how wonderful it was to have Grain-Free cookies that Christmas. Those cookies made me feel normal.

A Slice Of The Grain-Free Lifestyle

The first few times, I attended a Grain-Free Cookout, I thought I would just eat ahead of time and make do with whatever they might have that I could enjoy safely. EPIC FAIL!

I was tortured watching others eat!! Please don’t make this mistake. Even if you eat ahead of attending a cookout, take something with you that you will enjoy eating.

Ideally bring more than one thing that you can enjoy. Having multiple options will make you feel as though you aren’t missing out. It takes a little prep work, but you’ll be able to enjoy the party.

I still get lots of questions about why I bring my own food. And I’m always treated to comments like, “Oh, that’s why you’re thin, because you don’t eat anything!” People mean well, but I get tired of these comments. I find the best way to deal with them is to show people what I eat. Or, to put it simply, let them taste what I eat.
